HEARTS SLUMP CONTINUES

Accra Hearts of Oak’s poor form in the Onetouch Premier League continued after the Phobians lost their fifth game of the season away to Real Tamale United.

The defending League champions have made their worst start to the season in a decade and the poor run continued as RTU took all three points off them at the Tamale Sports Stadium.

Two goals in the first half in a space of five minutes gave the Pride of the North all three points and a place in the top 5 of the league.

Kwame Agbaja scored the first for RTU through a free kick in the 10th minute before Kabiru Imoro’s 15th minute shot sealed victory for them after a three-man move involving Shila Alhassan and Fatau Dauda.

Hearts were a much more improved side in the second half Hearts barked but could not bite.

The result means the Phobians have conceded five goals without scoring any in the last two games. Critically, it has left the Phobians sixteen points off the top of the table, which is occupied by their arch rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
